Lahsuni dal
A daily dish..
Ingredients:
- Masoor dal(red lentils) - 1 cup
- onion - 1 chopped
- tomato - 1 chopped
- turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- chilly powder - 1 tsp
- coriander powder 1/2 tsp
- hing (asafoetida) - 2 pinches
- garlic - 9-10 (peeled & whole)
- garlic - 2 chopped
- ghee - 2 tbsp
- mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- curry leaves - few
- salt to taste
Method:
- Wash & cook dal with onion, tomato, turmeric powder ,chilly powder ,hing , salt & about 21/2 cups of water in a pressure cooker until 1 whistle.
- Let the cooker cool by itself. remove dal & keep aside.
- Heat ghee in a pan. Add mustard, cumin seeds. let it splutter. Add curry leaves & garlic( both chopped & whole). Saute till garlic turns light brown. Add this to the hot dal.
- Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
